Slow Start Leads to Thrilling Finish |

The Storm hosted the Burke Magic today under clear blue skies. Despite a slow start that left the Storm down a goal early, the girls rallied and equalized before halftime on a perfectly taken penalty by Sidney. Noelle then shut down the box and denied the Magic strikers. Early in the 2nd half, the quality of the Storm's play improved, but a well struck ball from a Magic midfielder found the net putting the Storm behind again. As has been the case in many games, when falling behind, the Storm turned it up again and Claire and Lauren scored the equalizer and the winner. Sophia's shut down defense and Megans rock solid tackling were keys to to limiting the Magic's scoring chances. Amanda and Wittney once again showed how owning the middle of the park helps create great scroing chances. Madison and Mackenzie kept the pressure on teh Magic defense all afternoon.
